Gtechniq Training Courses

Gtechniq training courses are designed with Gtechniq fans, detailing enthusiasts, hobby detailers, and valeters in mind.

We offer a one or two-day course delivered at Gtechniq Works, Gtechniq’s Centre of Excellence, off junction 16 of the M1, UK.

All courses are delivered by Adam Eaton, Gtechniq Works detailing centre manager, who is highly regarded in the global detailing industry. Adam has been detailing for over 10 years and is the font of detailing knowledge behind Gtechniq.

Total surface care - one-day training course

Gtechniq’s one-day course is perfect for anyone who wants to learn professional methods of taking care of their car using the best performing detailing products available.  It is a hands-on, fast-paced course that is suitable for everyone.  All you need is enthusiasm and a passion for your car.  

Course content

• Acquiring knowledge and learning how to safely use a range of Gtechniq products to clean and maintain the exterior and interior of your car. Attendees will have hands-on experience with products including W4 Citrus Foam, W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner, W6 Iron and Fallout Remover, GWash and I2 Tri-Clean
• Learning how to correctly use a range of Gtechniq coatings including G1 ClearVision Smart Glass, Crystal Serum Light, EXO Ultra Durable Hydrophobic Coating and C5 Wheel Armour 
• Discover insider detailing tips and techniques
• ‘Ask the expert’ session – the opportunity to ask all your detailing and product related questions and get answers you wanted to know
   
• Added extras: Gtechniq Goody Bag (worth over £50), certificate of attendance, lunch and refreshments

Detailing foundation - two-day training course*

Gtechniq’s two-day course is designed for anyone who wants a more in-depth knowledge detailing and the professional methods that can be used to take care of their car. The course covers maintenance washing, through to machine polishing techniques and coating application. The course offers hands-on learning experience and is suitable for for people with a keen interest in car detailing, or those working in valeting looking to branch out into detailing. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.  

Course content

Day one

• Acquiring knowledge and learning how to use a range of Gtechniq maintenance products to clean, decontaminate and maintain the exterior of your car. Attendees will have a hands on experience with products including W4 Citrus Foam, W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner, W6 Iron and Fallout Remover and GWash
• Discuss and demonstrate vehicle drying methods and further mechanical decontamination
• Interior cleaning – vacuuming all areas to remove larger dirt particles, using I2 Tri-Clean and then protect with I1 Smart Fabric, C6 Matte Dash and L1 Leather Guard
• Inspecting the paint condition with various light tools, paint gauges and accessories in preparation for machine polishing on day two

Day two

• Demonstration and guide to using a variety of different machine polishers from rotary, forced rotation and DA. Learn about the differences in polishing pads (microfibre, wool and foam) and polishes (heavy cut compounds to fine polishes), and discover what each combination can achieve
• Learn how to inspect the condition of paint defects and what level of polishing the paint requires to achieve best results safely
• Masking the car - learn how to do this correctly to protect delicate areas from the machine polishing process
• Find out how to use light correctly - ranging from spot lights to diffused panels and the difference in results achieved
• Machine polishing ready for coating application
• Practice the application of Gtechniq’s world famous coatings including Crystal Serum Light, EXO Ultra Durable Hydrophobic Coating, G1 ClearVision Smart Glass, C5 Wheel Armour and C4 Permanent Trim Restorer
• Discover insider detailing tips and techniques
• ‘Ask the expert’ session – the opportunity to ask all your detailing and product related questions and get answers you wanted to know
   
• Added extras: A certificate for successfully passing the programme, Gtechniq goody bag (worth over £100), lunch and refreshments on both days

Wash and maintenance club meet

This course is aimed at everyone who wants to know how to clean their car properly. Teaching the right techniques to help reduce marring and keep paintwork as swirl free as possible.

Washing your car does not have to be a chore and this two-hour course proves that.

Course content

• Step by step do’s and don’ts of maintaining a car inside and out
• Pre-washing your car
• Washing your car
• Drying a car safely
• Making your car look its best
• As part of this you will be shown how to use Gtechniq’s full range of maintenance products correctly

This course is not something we run on a monthly basis. It is ideal for large groups of people and car clubs. Food is available on request.
